Tom Robbins and I shared a rollicking pen pal relationship for years, starting back when I was living in a hippie community in Topanga Canyon.
I lost most of our letters when I fled LA in 2019, though one particularly lovely one does sit on my altar (an unabridged dictionary). Tom donated the bulk of my letters to him to a University library, but I'm happy to have tripped upon a photograph of this letter, in particular.
My then boyfriend, a Swedish playboy/model, was mucho jealous of our ongoing exchange, and insisted that I let Tom know, in no uncertain terms, that I wasn't available for any hanky-panky. And so it was that I scribbled, "P.S. I don't want to have sex with you", on the back of a letter I'd just stamped, before slipping it in the mailbox slot at the Malibu post office. This was his
I was blessed to meet Tom in 2019. I handed him a signed copy of my transformational coloring book, YES, I AM. He looked at it and said, "Dani Katz! I remember you!", to which the woman standing next to me gushed, "Cool." I received a pitch today that perfectly illustrates how people unknowingly talk themselves out of alignment—simply through sloppy languaging.
This is the kind of thing we unpack deeply here:
How words shape power dynamics
How projection creates resistance
How precision opens doors
This video is a teaser for a solo episode coming next week where I go much deeper.

Hi Dani, I seem to remember an interview I think you did on your podcast with a guy who creates/sells private cell phone network services?
I am in the process of establishing my own local network and want to disconnect from the mainstream carriers. Any information or insights you have to share is appreciated. ~ Peace ❤
